Bessie Bunny's Bed & Breakfast

Bessie Bunny's Bed & Breakfast is named for the bossiest bunny in our household, Miss Bessie Anne (also known as Bess).  Bess came to us as a foster bunny when the Escondido Humane Society was destroyed by fire in January of 2001. She was one of seven bunnies who survived the fire, and came to our home to be cared for and eventually brought into the HRS foster system.

After fostering Bessie for about six months, we couldn't bear the thought of someone adopting her, as we had fallen totally in love with this special girl. So Bess became our bunny, and moved into our dining room where she presides over the preparation of each meal, begging to be given a carrot or other treat in advance of her dinner. As you can see from her photos, she loves to eat!  She's also quite the primadonna and will pose for the camera anytime you ask.

Bessie and Rugs are a very romantic couple. It took a long time to bond them, but they are now inseparable.
Sadly, our Bessie girl passed away on July 20, 2007.  We miss her sweet face.
